What does Utopian actually do?

We estimate what your company’s data is worth and introduce you to an AI lab that’s buying it. The lab makes the offer, handles export and anonymization, and pays your company directly.

Is this actually legal?

Yes. Company records belong to the company. You license them directly to the AI lab under a written agreement that covers ownership, anonymization and how the data may be used.

What about our employees' privacy?

The lab removes all personally identifiable information (PII) before the data is used, and you can exclude anything sensitive like HR, legal or DMs. Labs learn patterns of work, not people.

Could a competitor end up seeing our data?

No. The buyers are AI labs training models, and the license rules out resale, publication and re-identification. Company and customer names are anonymized too.

Does it cost anything?

No. Our estimate and introduction are free, and the lab covers export and anonymization. You only sign once you’re happy with their offer.

We've shut down and cancelled our tools. Is it too late?
